Kurt Tucholsky (1890-1935) was a prominent poet and songwriter, as well a journalist whose satirical reportage opposed the rise of National Socialism. Exiled from Berlin in 1929, Tucholsky moved to Sweden, where he died, by suicide, at the age of forty-five.
