Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Fascimile edition. Paper covered boards in colour printed slipcase. Quarto, unpaginated, The books have faint traces of soiling across the front boards. The accompanying slipcase is in a near fine condition, however there are faint traces of soiling at the bottom and top. With the first volume '25 cats name Sam and one Blue Pussy', the binding is worn down the seams and is therefore a bit fragile, the condition is very good. The second volume 'Holy Cats' is in a near fine condition, the binding is tight overall. Considerable browning across the spine of this particular volume. This fascimile edition of the two books were published as a box set a few months after Warhol's death, in 1987, this being the first UK edition published not long after. The first book is an homage to the 26 cats that lived with Warhol and his mother in their New York townhouse, all of which were named Sam (except for one, named Hester) Sixteen of them are depicted in the book. The second volume was written and illustrated solely by Julia as a tribute to her beloved Hester on an ascent to heaven. Seller Inventory # 036733
