Some slight edge wear to top and bottom of jacket and spine, spine very slightly sunned, not price clipped (£6.25), no inscriptions, internally clean tight and square, overall a vg++ copy. 179pp, illustrated. The astonishing story of the disgraceful and dishonourable treatment of Sir Dudley North, Admiral of the Royal Navy who served during World War I and World War II. He was relieved of his command in 1940 on the grounds of his failure, while naval commander at Gibraltar, to challenge a Vichy French naval squadron; this after he had narrowly escaped replacement in response to his earlier objection to the action at Mers-el-Kebir. A scapegoat for mistakes made in London, he was only exonerated of blame long after his death in 1961. Seller Inventory # 002439
