There are exercises and many with keys and a thorough index and the book could be used as a course-book for grammar classes. This book fills a gap in the market for intermediate level grammar.

Stephen le Fleming is lecturer in Russian at the University of Durham and William Harrison is Professor of Russian at the University of Durham. They previously co-authored Colloquial Russian, Routledge and Kegan Paul, 1973. Reprinted 1978, 1990. Stephen le Fleming was also co-author of Guide to Essay Writing in Russian and has written articles on Chekov in Russian and UK publications.
