Synopsis

When Susannah Thorpe inherits Harstairs House in the autumn of 1793 she finds more than she bargains for, as the house has a tenant in the broodingly handsome shape of Oliver Bristow. With only a month left on his lease Susannah allows him to remain, but a series of unexplained incidents arouse her curiosity and make her question his motives for staying. Susannah's search to uncover the answer to this mystery sweeps her into an adventure that changes her life. But when it is over, there is one question that haunts her. Will Oliver leave, or will he stay?

From the Author

I've always loved Cornwall, with its wild coastline and its stormy seas, and I wanted to set a book there. I thought that a mysterious house, set high on a cliff overlooking the sea, was the perfect place for my hero and heroine to fall in love. I sent them through adventure and danger together, before allowing them to land on life's calmer shores.
