About the Author
Gunnar Myrdal (1898-1987) served as Swedish minister of trade and commerce, a Rockefeller Fellow, and wrote An American Dilemma at the invitation of the Carnegie Corporation. He returned to his homeland where he was, until his death, professor at the Institute of International Economic Relations at Stockholm University.
Richard Swedberg is associate professor of sociology at the University of Stockholm, and has been a scholar in residence at Harvard University. He is the author of Sociology as Disenchantment and Economic Sociology: Past and Present.

Hardcover. Condition: Near Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Very Good. Fifth printing, hardcover, has a subtle lean to the binding, which is slightly shaken but remains solid. The book also has light bumps to the spine ends and cover corners, a shallow ding to the tail edge of the covers, rubbing to the covers, light foxing with a few stains to the head of the text block, and a previous owner's name penned to the head of the first free end page. Overall, a Near Very Good copy in a like, clipped dust jacket, which has creased bumps with small chips to the spine ends and cover corners, mild wear to the edges with light creasing to the upper edges, rubbing to the covers with light smudging, and a small tear to the rear hinge.
