About the Author

Tom Barron joined the army aged 15. He joined the Police Service in 1969. He spent two years teaching crammer courses for officials taking sergeants' and inspectors' exams. He has written a number of articles and lectures in colleges and universities. He is also author of The Special Comstable's Manual. Julianna Mitchell LLB(Hons), BCL (Oxon) is a practising barrister and contributing author of Halsbury's Laws of England
