What’s the difference between sarcasm and irony? Or nihilism and fatalism? Or sex and gender?
This book is part of a new series and a brand-new approach to popular reference based on the question, ‘What’s the difference?’.
Inside, there are crystal-clear explanations of 150 paired words that build into a wide-ranging philosophy primer. Philosophical concepts are explored in pairs to help clarify common (and not-so-common) confusions. Exploring two definitions at the same time cuts to the heart of a topic quickly and clearly so you can avoid those all too frequent conceptual slip-ups.
This book helps you to define your terms so you can tell the difference between a chatterbox and a brainbox, a sophist and a sage, and crucially a well-informed argument and a sloppy debate.
