This work consists of two parts: a book of the hours of the end of the 13th century preceded by 23 slightly earlier miniatures of Old and New Testament scenes surviving from another book, probably a psalter. It is therefore one of the earliest books of hours, written before the standardization of the text and decoration during the 14th and 15th centuries.
