About the Author
Moyra McNeill trained as an embroiderer and is enthusiastic about 'traditional' techniques, allied to modern design and purpose. Drawn Thread Embroidery is her sixth book following this theme. She has taught adults over a period of many years and has served as a City and Guilds examiner, tutor and assessor. She is a practising embroiderer exhibiting regularly and working to commission. Moyra lives in West Wickham, Kent.

In this study, the author has borne in mind the traditional aspects of the craft, but also pays attention to the exciting and experimental innovations of recent years. An introductory section explains how to withdraw stitches and secure ends. As well as basic techniques such as ladder and zigzag hems, more experimental styles, including working with colour and weaving with fabric strips, provide plenty of new design ideas.
