Synopsis
Budgerigars in Colour, their Care and Breeding is a new and revised edition of the popular book by A. Rutgers published by Bradford Press under “The Care and Breeding of Budgerigars”. Cyril H. Rogers is the editor of this new English edition, and has contributed much new material.
A special feature is the 68 colour plates by the distinguished bird artists, H. Heinzel and R.A. Vowles. These provide a most valuable reference to the many colour variations of Budgerigars.
The text gives full and up-to-date details on every aspect of Budgerigar keeping and breeding. The first section on “Care” covers accommodation, feeding, diseases, and teaching Budgerigars to talk. The second section on Breeding has chapters on the different groups of Budgerigars and includes 30 colour percentage tables.
“The Care and Breeding of Budgerigars” was described by “Gamekeeper and Countryside” as “a standard work of reference” and “Lady” commented “Though it is certainly a classic textbook for the professional breeder it can be of use to the ordinary household where budgies are kept as pets.”
