An essayist, novelist, and poet, C.S. Lewis combines all of his talents in Narrative Poems. Even when composing his prose works, such as his autobiography Surprised by Joy, Lewis wrote his first drafts in verse, so highly did he think of the narrative poem. Collected here are the four completed poems by Lewis: Dymer, Launcelot, The Nameless Isle, and The Queen of Drum. Though only Dymer was published in his lifetime, these poems display Lewis s deep love for medieval and Renaissance poetry and themes, the influence of which can be seen throughout his fiction.

About the Author
C. S. Lewis (1898-1963) gained international renown for an impressive array of beloved works both popular and scholarly: literary criticism, children's literature, fantasy literature, and numerous books on theology. Among his most celebrated achievements are Out of the Silent Planet, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Screwtape Letters, The Four Loves, and Surprised by Joy.

Also contains an original publishers review slip from William Collins (Africa) Ltd. Jacket has faults - namely edge/shelf wear, a few small (largest approx. 1cm) tears, creasing/rubbing to edges, small patchy loss (mainly to head/tail of spine and to corners), a few marks, pushing/rubbing to head/tail of spine, pushing/bumping to corners, patchy browning (including to spine), couple of small (approx. 1cm) tears to edge of back inner flap, the odd spot of foxing, little creasing/rubbing to front/back inner flaps and is in only good condition. Boards are very good with a little pushing/bumping to corners (especially to back lower corner), the odd very small mark, a little patchy rubbing to edges, the odd small bump to edges and a little pushing/rubbing/bumping to head/tail of spine. Pages are generally clean and the binding is tight. Top edge of pages dyed grey have the odd small mark/spot of foxing. Pages are tanned. Odd small mark/bump/scratch to page edges and bottoms.
