This series acts as an introduction to key artists and movements in art history. Each title contains 48 full-page colour plates, accompanied by extensive notes, and numerous comparative illustrations in colour or black and white, a concise introduction, select bibliography and detailed source information for the images. Monographs on individual artists also feature a brief chronology.

About the Author
The author J. Hillier is an outstanding historian and collector of Japanese prints. He has written many books and catalogues on Japanese drawings and prints, including Hokusai and Utamaro, both published by Phaidon.

Dustwrapper spine very lightly sunned, not affecting legibility of title etc. Small enclosed split to rear wrapper cover adjacent to spine. Near fine in at least VG dustwrapper. Heavy book, when wrapped appropriately it weighs c1300g thus exceeding the 1000g default for the automatic postage quotation - the extra postage will be requested at time of order or enquiry.if to be sent by 1st class UK post or overseas, 2nd class UK no need.
