About the Author:
G. Bernard Hughes was internationally recognised as a specialist in antiques. Over a period of many years, by his books and innumerable magazine articles, he built up a reputation for thorough, informative, and extremely readable work. He was rewarded with a Fellowship of the Royal Society of Arts. His other books include English Glass for the Collector, and Living Crafts. Therle Hughes, his wife, shared his interest in antiques. Her books include Small Decorative Antiques, More Small Decorative Antiques, Sweetmeat and Jellyglasses, Old English Furniture, Cottage Antiques, and Small Antiques for the Collector. Together they also wrote After the Regency, Three Centuries of English Silver and Small Antique Furniture.
