This volume completes a two-volume guide to manuscipts relating to South and South-East Asia held in public and private collections in Britain and Ireland. Volume 1, covering repositories in London, was published in 1989. The guide updates and expands Wainwright and "Guide to manuscripts and documents in the British Isles relating to South and South-East Asian Studies (1965)", and includes a number of important collections not recorded in the earlier work. Most notably these are the collections of the India Office Library and Records (in Volume 1); the Cambridge Centre of South Asian Studies, Rhodes House Library in Oxford, and Churchill College Archive Centre in Cambridge (in Volume 2). Each volume contains a list of repositories.
