This modular-based text focuses on developing transcription skill through a building block format. The student will work with the textbook, CD ROM and accompanying audiocassettes.
The CD ROM provides self-correcting and assessment features. The audiocassettes contain dictation from outpatient specialty practices.
The text is divided into two units: Unit 1 presents the fundamental skills and knowledge that a student must understand in preparation for medical transcription practice. Unit 2 places the student in the role of a medical transcriptionist employed at a fictitious outpatient health care center. Students transcribe medical documents and are given feedback on their progress.
