About the Author
Gordon R. Dickson was the Hugo- and Nebula-winning author of many classics of fantasy and science fiction, most famously the Childe Cycle (also known as the Dorsai series). He died in 2001.

Then published under the title 'The Genetic General' in 1960. This edition restored text from the 1959 version and may represent a true 3rd revision. Sometimes identified as "3rd in the 'Dorsai Trilogy'", but considered to be the 1st in the 'Childe Cycle' around which following novels and short stories centre:- Synopsis: Donal Graeme set out to re-shape the galaxy, but first he must tear it apart.
