The first ever crossword was published in 1913 and Colonel Hill's first crossword dictionary was published in 1920. It has been in print for over seventy years, and is still an indispensable addition to the puzzle-solver's shelf.

About the Author
The late Col. H. W. Hill's first crossword dictionary was published in 1920, and between 1923 and 1951, he compiled eight revised editions. Since then, new editions have been compiled by Rowland G.P. Hill, Colonel Hill's son. Rowland Hill lives inKaris, Finland.
