Review

A simple, easy-to-read clock face is built into this large, sturdy board book, and is visible through a circular cutout from whichever page you open. Original Beatrix Potter illustrations adorn the pages, and each has a different question-and-answer related to telling time. ("What time is it? It's 2 o'clock. Move the little hand to the 2 and the big hand to the 12. At two o'clock, Pigling Bland and Alexander are going to market.") Other characters include that old scoundrel Peter himself, Mrs. Tiggy-winkle, Hunca-Munca, and Mr. Jeremy Fisher. The clock has large black numbers from 1 to 12 and easily positioned black plastic hour and minute hands. A final page tests new time-telling skills with a further series of illustrated questions.
