What time does Peter Rabbit have his morning snack?
What time do Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cotton-tail have their supper?
What time is bedtime for Hunca Munca's babies? Children will find out the answers as they spend the day with Peter and his friends learning how to tell time. On each page, they'll be shown how to move the hands around the clock face to make the right time, following the simple diagram. Beginning in the morning when Tom Kitten's tail and whiskers are combed, and ending with Hunca Munca putting her babies to bed, telling time with Peter Rabbit is easy and fun. This colorful die-cut book features moveable plastic clock hands and sturdy board pages for lots of fun and lots of learning.

A simple, easy-to-read clock face is built into this large, sturdy board book, and is visible through a circular cutout from whichever page you open. Original Beatrix Potter illustrations adorn the pages, and each has a different question-and-answer related to telling time. ("What time is it? It's 2 o'clock. Move the little hand to the 2 and the big hand to the 12. At two o'clock, Pigling Bland and Alexander are going to market.") Other characters include that old scoundrel Peter himself, Mrs. Tiggy-winkle, Hunca-Munca, and Mr. Jeremy Fisher. The clock has large black numbers from 1 to 12 and easily positioned black plastic hour and minute hands. A final page tests new time-telling skills with a further series of illustrated questions. (Ages 3 to 5) --Richard Farr
Beatrix Potter is one of the world's best-loved children's authors of all time. From her first book, The Tale of Peter Rabbit (1902) she went on to create a series of stories based around animal characters including Mrs Tiggy-winkle, Mr Jeremy Fisher and Tom Kitten. Her humorous, lively tales and beautiful illustrations have become a natural part of childhood.A source of inspiration was the Lake District where she lived for the last thirty years of her life as a farmer and conservationist.
