About the Author

From Booklist

Peter Marsh, a former policeman now confined to a wheelchair, works with his daughter, Georgia, to investigate unsolved historic crimes and then write best-selling books about them. The duo's latest case comes about when a skeleton is found near the village of Wickenham. The Marshes soon learn that the village has a history of tragedy. In 1929 one Davy Todd was hanged for murdering Amy Proctor, the local doctor's daughter. His death sparked a village feud between Todds and Proctors that has continued to the present day. With Peter surfing the Internet, checking archived newspaper files, and looking through old court records for clues, Georgia visits Wickenham to gather background material. She immediately encounters hostility from the feuding villagers. Only an old lady, who is distantly related to Davy Todd, is willing to talk about the dark past. An atmospheric village mystery with enough unexpected twists to keep readers fully engaged. Emily Melton
