Synopsis

A new novel of love and intrigue from the master storyteller - When Ivan Digby asks jewellery designer Jo Radcliffe to create a necklace using stones from the priceless Fieldingley Necklace, Jo is intrigued. The rubies were among the first sold abroad after Britain conquered Burma in the 1850s; after all these years, Betsey Fieldingley has had to sell them to clear her debts. But when the rubies are found to be fakes, Jo finds herself under attack and even the rather likeable Tim Fieldingley, Betseys grandson, seems to blame her...

About the Author

Tessa Barclay is the bestselling author of over forty novels and one of the most popular writers in the UK. Previous titles by this well-loved author include The Champagne Girls, The Precious Gift, The Saturday Girl, Other People's Dreams and, from Severn House, Starting Over and A Lovely Illusion. She has also just published the first two novels of a new series of crime novels, Farewell Performance and A Better Class of Person.

From Booklist

At first jewelry designer Jo Radcliffe is delighted when financier Ivan Digby asks her to create something new using the rubies from the famed nineteenth-century Fieldingly necklace for his fiancee Miri Gale. Then Jo meets Miri and discovers that designing something that will please the spoiled "actress" isn't going to be easy. Things really get complicated when the rubies are found to be synthetic, which causes problems not only with Ivan and Miri but also with photographer Tim Fieldingly, whose grandmother Betsey sold the necklace to Ivan. Jo finds herself in the middle of a battle between Ivan and the Fieldinglys, and she isn't sure who she thinks is right. Barclay adds some intriguing details about jewelry design and history to her latest expertly crafted novel, and readers who loved Rosamunde Pilcher's early charming contemporary romances will find Richer Than Rubies to be equally delightful.
