BMX gives a brief but solid introduction to the evolution of the sport, explains the bike's structure and parts, and takes a quick look at competitive riding, ending with a page-long biography of a leading rider. Filled with enticing color photos and written in short, straightforward sentences, these books will attract reluctant readers with a penchant for cool wheels of all types. The concluding resource section, listing a few other series titles and Web sites, is weak, but the books contain enough technical information to support report writing as well as personal interest.
