Essays discuss the existence of organized Satanism, whether such groups worship the devil, and the extent to which they pose a threat to society or are responsible for kidnappings, child abuse, murder, and other crimes.

Grade 9 Up—This is a well-constructed collection of essays on Satanism and its role in modern society. The introduction stays neutral, and the essays present a broad range of opinion, from Christian views to secular views and Satanist views. The 11 articles were all originally published within the past seven years and the end matter contains a diverse list of organizations. This book would be an excellent starting point for reports as it provides a well-balanced view of the topic.—Nancy Kunz, Tuckahoe Public Library, NY
