About the Author

Stanley I. Greenspan, M.D., is Clinical Professor of Psychiatry, Behavioral Science, and Pediatrics at George Washington University Medical School and author of The Growth of the Mind, Infancy and Early Childhood, The Challenging Child, and The Child with Special Needs. The discoveries described in this book have been reported on ABC's Nightline, and in Newsweek, Time, the Washington Post, and the New York Times.

Nancy Breslau Lewis has worked as a medical writer at the National Institutes of Health, as a newspaper columnist, and has edited books in psychology and political activism.
