County courthouses stand at the center of Nebraska local government. Their authority in the state extends over hundreds of square miles with county populations ranging from less than a thousand to nearly half a million. About the Author:
Oliver B. Pollak has taught at the University of Nebraska at Omaha since 1974. His previous book with Arcadia is Jewish Life in Omaha and Lincoln: A Photographic History. He is a practicing attorney who has published several books and over 100 scholarly articles.
