The historic village of Cold Spring lies on the east bank of the Hudson River, about 50 miles north of New York City.

About the Author

Trudie A. Grace has been the curator of the Putnam County Historical Society & Foundry School Museum in Cold Spring since 2000 and a professor of art history at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City since 1988. She is the author of numerous publications on artistic and historical subjects, including several on the history of the Hudson Highlands.
