In “The Fire Within” experience the creative poems of the spoken word, comparing Mr. Thompson’s works with some of the leading voices of our times such as, Saul Williams, 2PAC, and Chicago’s Reggie Gibson, you are refreshed with a new force on the scene. As a publisher with the ASCAP and a song writer for BAM the author seeks to bring all the genres of music and the spoken word together and export it to a mass audience of Generation X, Baby Boomers and the next group coming. The market includes popular culture, high schoolers, college students and people of color, especially women. The themes of love relationships, self esteem and empowerment will reach a national market. Also looking for an international global audience the author explores themes of struggles, rejections, hurts, and pains, then the paths of restoration, redemption, love and triumph.
Borrowing from the movie, Love Jones, Mr. Thompson writes what he describes as poem-songs, poetic songs with lyrics and melody.
