About the Author

R. H. Brady was born and raised in Rhode Island. After graduating from the University of Connecticut, he pursued his graduate studies in England. He served as an infantry officer and aviator in the U.S. Army. His assignments included posts in both Europe and Asia. He served extensively in combat and was awarded several decorations, including the Purple Heart.

Mr. Brady has been a writer and communicator throughout his life. For several years he authored a column in The Honolulu Advertiser, was a broadcaster in both radio and television, and acted in principal roles with HAWAII FIVE-O. His articles have been published in VFW Magazine, The National AMVET, Reader's Digest and Honolulu Magazine.

Mr. Brady also served for a number of years as public affairs officer at the U.S. Naval Base, Pearl Harbor. In addition to extensive work in history there, he played a major role in the planning and execution of the 50th anniversary observances of the attack on Pearl Harbor, as well as those commemorating the end of World War II in the Pacific.
