From AudioFile:
These two stories are greatly enhanced by the accompanying original music. In The White Cat, Emma Thompsons cool, elegant voice complements a tale of princes and magical cats who are more than they appear. In a tale in which most of the characters are royalty, she gives each an appropriately aristocratic tone. The romantic and expressive music by Joe Jackson reflects the events in this leisurely paced story. In strong contrast, Robin Williams plays with accents and over-the-top jokes in The Fool and the Flying Ship, a Russian folktale about a fool and his quirky group of friends. Williamss breathless burlesque narration goes well with the story, as does the background music provided by the Klezmer Conservatory Band.
