Originally from Long Island, NY, Melody Higdon now calls North Carolina home. She followed a job as a meteorologist technical writer/editor there after a 20-year Air Force career. A writer since childhood, she focuses mainly on science fiction but occasionally branches out into fiction and poetry. She has been happily married for almost 22 years to a wonderful man who she met in Germany. He is also retired from the Air Force.
