Carl Sferrazza Anthony is the nation's leading authority on the political power and social influence of First Ladies, and has written extensively on the subject of First Families. He is the author of five previous books, and he has written for publications such as American Heritage, Vanity Fair, The Washington Post, The New York Times, and the Los Angeles Times. He served as one of Nancy Reagan's speechwriters in 1985 and 1986, and has conducted more in-depth interviews with Hillary Rodham Clinton than any other writer or journalist. He was also a contributing editor to George magazine, where he was a colleague of founder and executive editor John Kennedy. Anthony frequently provides White House historical context for morning and evening news shows on NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, FOX, and MSNBC.
