About the Author
Don DeLillo is the author of fifteen novels, including Underworld, Falling Man, White Noise, and Libra. He has won the National Book Award, the PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction, the Jerusalem Prize for his complete body of work, and the William Dean Howells Medal from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. In 2010, he was awarded the PEN/Saul Bellow Prize. The Angel Esmeralda was a finalist for the 2011 Story Prize and the PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction. In October 2012, DeLillo receives the Carl Sandburg Literary Award for his body of work.
Will Patton's numerous film credits include Remember the Titans, The Punisher, The Mothman Prophesies, Armageddon, and The Spitfire Grill. He starred in the TNT miniseries Into the West and on the CBS series The Agency, and won Obie Awards in the theater for his performances in Fool for Love and What Did He See.

Don DeLillo has avid fans who adore the humor, symbolism, and neo-Gothic fantasy of Underworld and his other novels. In this one, a youngish tycoon enters his custom-made limo to traverse Manhattan for a haircut. The journey takes him an entire day, becoming an odyssey of erotic and satiric adventures, ending with a confrontation with his would-be assassin. Echoes of Joyce, Cheever, and Tom Robbins abound. Will Patton lowers his rugged voice to a near whisper, imbuing the entire exercise with a sinister presentiment of doom. In so doing, much of the humor is sacrificed.
