The legendary travels of Jason and the Golden Fleece from Greek mythology and various Biblical voyages are included. In the course of the discussion, many specific and unusual facts are revealed. Somerville gives an overview of the depiction of animals in art, beginning with the materials used by cavemen. Both books include boxed sidebars that feature ideas for art projects, detailed explanations of a particular artist or subject, and questions that lead youngsters to further explorations.
