Though the subject is rather gruesome, this is nonetheless a remarkable reference book. Authors Begg, Martin Fido, and Keith Skinner offer a detailed listing of everything having to do with the Whitechapel killings of 1888. This second edition of the original (LJ 9/15/92) has been updated to include a new suspect, American Francis Tumblety, and even Ripper-related World Wide Web pages, e.g., . This also includes numerous photographs, some of which are new.
