Synopsis
Iran meets Solly by the sea one evening. Iran's mother stitches 5854 pearls onto the wedding dress and with 5754 of them the couple buy a tiny flat shaded by guava trees. They have five children, who, surrounded by their parents' passion, grow up longing to fall in love.

Dorit Rabinyan was born in 1972 and lives in Israel. Her first novel, PERSIAN BRIDES, was published in eight languages (Canongate in the UK) and was awarded The Jewish Quarterly-Wingate Literary Award in 1999.
