Dakari Hru (1952-1994) was a poet and storyteller who counted children of all ages and backgrounds as part of his large extended audience. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA, and as well as writing he worked for the United Nations travelling extensively in Africa. When it came to writing, Dakari Hru said that "inspiration jumps out at him from everywhere.". Ken Wilson-Max was born and brought up in Zimbabwe and now lives in London where he works on his wonderful books for children.
