His crime books include: 'London Crime', 'Death and Debauchery, East End Murders', 'Jack the Ripper's London' and 'Victorian Prisons and Prisoners'. He has written 'The Home Guard' and (with Molly Housego) 'Women in the First World War' for Shire.
