First, there's the young woman's body which has been discovered in the River Alm. And then there's the mysterious break-in at Berebury Nursing Home. To be precise, it's Josephine Short's room at the Nursing Home that's been entered, although nothing seems to be missing. What could the intruder have been after? This is the first UK edition, a first printing copy. The 23rd novel in the Sloan and Crosby series. In this one, Sloan and Crosby are involved in two cases, in the first a young woman's body has been found in the River Alm, the second involves a break-in at the nursing home, are the crimes related? 285 pages, 5-1/2" X 8-3/4". The dust jacket is intact and is not price clipped. Cover boards are flat, the corners are not bumped or worn. Top and bottom edges of the text block have some very faint age foxing dots. There is a former price written in ink on the top corner of the first flyleaf page, no further writing besides that, no former ownership marks. Not a remainder, not a library discard.
