Synopsis
These despatches sent to the "Morning Post" from the the war front in 1899 were originally published in book form as "London to Ladysmith via Pretoria" and Ian Hamilton's March" under the title "The Boer War". In both books Churchill adopts a personal approach and recounts his own experiences set against the background of the Boer War, rather than attempting to give a picture of the war as a whole.

About the Author
Sir Winston Churchill (1874-1965) was Prime Minister of the United Kingdom on two occasions, from 1940 to 1945 and again from 1951-1955. Celebrated as one of the greatest wartime leaders of the 20th Century, he was also a gifted orator, statesman and historian. He was awarded the Novel Prize for Literature in 1953.
