Students would find some of the basic descriptions clear to understand and anyone considering research in this area would probably find some of the practical methodological information invaluable. Although the examples are not all strictly sporting functions and the title does not suggest as much, the principles could easily be applied to this field. It also gives more insight into how injury can affect sporting function which is sometimes not covered in similar texts devoted to kinetic and kinematic studies of various sporting activities.
