About the Author

Formerly a primary head teacher, Bill Laar has worked as an Inspector/Advisor for a number of LEA's including Birmingham, the I.L.E.A. and Oxfordshire, where he was the Senior Advisor. He was Chief Inspector for the City of Westminster and is currently a consultant to various LEA's and a registered Ofsted inspector. He contributes extensively to education courses and conferences in the United Kingdom and internationally. He writes on a wide range of issues for education publications.
