The first edition replaced a well-known, long-established very successful textbook, Morgan's Students Structural Handbook. This textbook presents the student with a step-by-step guide to the basic procedures for the structural design of the most commonly used structural design of the most commonly used structural elements, including beams, slabs and columns and retaining walls. It replaces the well-known third edition of Morgan's 'Students Structural Handbook' and is written in terms of limit state design.
