About the Author

Hugh Collis was an Associate Director at Arup Transport Planning. He left in 2001 to become a freelance consultant and writer. A Chartered Engineer, he is a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, a Fellow of the Institution of Highwasy and Transportation, a Member of the Association for European Transport and a Member of the Transport Planning Society. Whilst much of his work is in London (UK), he whas worked on projects and plans throughout the UK, in Eastern Europe, Ireland, Germany, France, Turkey, the Netherlands and in the USA.
