Synopsis
Using evidence derived from field-work, observation, documentary sources and archaeology, the authors show how to trace the landscape of the town, revealing its invisible past and its future potential. This clearly written and eminently readable book teems with examples of how towns have acquired their present appearance - how, for example, Norwich is a linked group of Roman, Saxon and Scandinavian elements, all of them still discernible to the informed eye.
