Synopsis

With some warm milk, and a wooly cardigan, young Parsnip soon revives and makes friends with Champy the sheepdog puppy, Tadpole the piglet, and Blanket the foal. The farmer takes the lamb into the house and feeds her. After finding a warm place to sleep?a parsnip box?the lamb plays with the household pets. After finding her a sweater to keep her warm, the lamb's new friends help her to look for her mother. Pedestrian text and lackluster line-and-wash illustrations deflate the appealing idea of a vulnerable animal in need of care.
