Synopsis
It is 1899, and a new generation has inherited the Rhodesian birthright that Dan Retallick won from the legendary king of Matabeleland. Once again, the clouds of conflict loom on the horizon as the blood-streaked bayonets of the Boer War encircle Dan's sons. Nat, with one eye on the willful wife of an English colonel, joins the colors as a guide for the British army. But his younger brother Adam follows a rebel star and a farmer's daughter to enlist with a Boer commando. The tides of history have set brother against brother in the savage struggle of the South African war.

About the Author
E V Thompson was born in London and spent nine years in the Navy before joining the Bristol police. He moved to Hong Kong, then Rhodesia and had over 200 stories published before returning to England to become a full-time writer. In 1977 CHASE THE WIND won the Best Historical Novelist Award. He is married with two children and a variety of pets.
