The title is misleading, as this book on interior design deals with much more than color. It is a wonderful book full of information about home decorating. Chapters include Color and Design, Textures and Effects, Color Highlights, and Creating a Style with Color. Color and Design explains how to make a color wheel, how to use complementary colors, understanding how to use contrasts, hue, tints, and shades. Also, how to include your own personality/personal tase in your room style, and how to use pattern and texture to create optical illusions. The rest of the book is equally detailed in teaching the reader how to decorate your home. Stenciling, stamping, furnishings, drapes, shades...all of these topics are included in Color Your Room.
