Synopsis

Team England Rugby's World Cup 2003 is the story of the momentous achievements of Clive Woodward's squad—the first team from the Northern Hemisphere to capture the World Cup. There is a match-by-match account of the opening pool games, the punishing quarter-final against Wales, and the supremely accomplished victory over France in the semi-final, before the exhausting climax of extra-time in Sydney against the Wallabies. The World Cup triumph was a supreme England team effort, and the book features first-person accounts from numerous players, including Martin Johnson, Jonny Wilkinson, Jason Robinson, and Will Greenwood, as well as Clive Woodward, Andy Robinson, and the coaching staff. Part celebratory souvenir, part detailed and comprehensive record, World Cup 2003 is the fully authorised, behind-the-scenes account of English rugby's crowning moment.

Review

This is the day-to-day diary of the England Rugby team's 2003 World Cup campaign, in their own words, published one week after the final. There are first-person accounts from all the key players (including Martin Johnson, Lawrence Dallaglio, Jason Robinson and Jonny Wilkinson), and the book is illustrated with exclusive photos from the tournament. The target market here is both England rugby fans and disenchanted English football and cricket fans; with the kind of promotion the players will be giving it, this one absolutely can't fail.
