Mike Ripley is the author of 16 novels, including the award-winning 'Angel' series of comic thrillers. He is well-known as a critic and reviewer of crime fiction and was also a scriptwriter for the BBC's 'Lovejoy' series. He was four years into a new career as an archaeologist when, aged 50, he had a stroke.
