About the Author:

Sally Grindey is the award-winning author of over a dozen picture books including Shhh! (Andersen), winner of the UK's Children's Book Award, I Don't Want To (Little, Brown), and Wake Up Dad (Doubleday). Her novel Spilled Water won the 2004 Smarties Prize. Dyan Sheldon's "Not Quite Christmas" is about an animal family and friends who don't really celebrate Christmas but wish they did. The best story, "King Wod's Surprise Present," by Chris Powling, is about a spoiled king who is mad that he has everything and wants a surprise present; instead, he makes Christmas for Santa and learns the pleasure of giving.
